Selfly turns your GitHub and GitLab activity into contributions you confirm in ninety seconds a week, and a review-ready summary when it counts.
This Week
15 – 21 September · 7 items to confirm
Cut settlement webhook p95 latency from 1.4s to 860ms
Reworked the retry path after the incident review flagged repeated timeouts under load. Added jittered backoff and a circuit breaker around the ledger call.
It's December. What did you do in March?
Drag the divider. On the left, review day the usual way. On the right, the same year with Selfly.
Q1. Summarise your key contributions this cycle.
I worked on the payments API and…
Payments API
•Reduced settlement webhook p95 latency from 1.4s to 860ms after the Q3 incident review. PR #482
•Eliminated the retry storm behind duplicate charges; unblocked Risk and Billing. PAY-1170
•Led the March ledger outage response; wrote the postmortem now used in on-call. INC-311
Team
•Onboarded two backend engineers through their first on-call rotation. Manual
•Interviewed nine backend candidates across Q2. Manual
Built on a simple loop.
Work → contribution → impact → evidence → summary. Selfly does the collecting. You do ninety seconds of confirming.
Capture from anywhere
Work that never touched a tracker, like mentoring, incidents and interviews, gets one line and a keystroke.
Confirm your week
Drafted from your own activity, never invented. Confirm, edit inline, or skip.
Generate at review time
Only confirmed records. Every line cites its source. Missing impact stays missing.
Connect once.
It keeps up.
Link GitHub or GitLab and Selfly follows your pull requests, merge requests, reviews and issues. Every week they show up as drafts, ready for you to confirm.
- Read-only access
- Titles, links and timestamps. Never your code.
- Jira support is coming soon
Ninety seconds. Zero forms.
This is the real weekly ritual. Use → and ←, drag the cards, or press Z to undo. Finish the stack and watch the summary write itself from what you confirmed.
- Every action is reversible for six seconds
- Impact is optional. Confirming with nothing filled is normal
- Skip everything and nothing is written for you
Cut settlement webhook p95 latency from 1.4s to 860ms
Reworked the retry path after the incident review flagged repeated timeouts under load.
Onboarded two backend hires to the payments runbook
Paired through the first on-call rotation and reviewed their first three PRs.
Fixed retry storm in the settlement worker
Duplicate charges in PAY-1170 traced to unbounded retries; added idempotency keys.
Seven cards. No modals. No mouse.
Every action in the weekly review has a key, so your hands never leave the keyboard.
Your record.
Not a performance score.
Selfly is built for the employee, not the employer. There is no manager view and nothing that ranks you against anyone.
“Help engineers tell the truth about their work more clearly. Never manufacture a better-looking story.”

Questions, answered.
Does Selfly read my code?
No. It connects with read-only access and only reads titles, links and timestamps of your pull requests, merge requests, reviews and issues. Your code never leaves GitHub or GitLab.
Can my manager or company see my record?
No. Selfly is built for one person. There is no team, no admin and no manager view. What you record is only visible to you.
Will the AI make up numbers or impact?
No. Your summary is written only from contributions you confirmed. If a contribution has no measured impact, it stays blank instead of being estimated.
Which tools does it work with?
GitHub and GitLab today. Jira support is coming soon. Work that never touched a tracker, like mentoring or interviews, you can add in one line with ⌘K.
Can I take my data with me, or delete it?
Yes. From Settings you can export everything as JSON plus a Markdown list of your confirmed work, and delete your account along with everything you recorded.
Is Selfly free?
Yes. Selfly is in early access, and every feature is included with no card needed. If that ever changes, you’ll hear from us well before it does, and your record always stays yours to export.
